Razia Sattar

Razia Sattar is the Chairwomen of BWA Limited Board of Directors and has been working in the community sector for over 15 years. Razia is also undertaking a PhD degree at Birbeck College, London looking at how Black Minority Ethnic groups engage in local decision making structures. 

Derek Rowley

Derek Rowley is a Director to BWA Board. Until recently, Derek was a Councillor for 12 years representing the constituency of Great Bridge in Tipton. Derek is also the chairperson of Tipton Development Group.

Sayrun Nessa

Sayrun is a Director to BWA Board. She is a local resident and mother of five. She has been a community activist for about 25 years and enjoys helping the community and arranging events and activities for all the people to get together.

Alek Ahmed 

In 2010 Alek started working with BWA as a young apprentice. He then worked his way to become the BWA Senior Adviser. Alek currently works for Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) as an Administrative Officer and works in several departments across government such as Department of Works and Pensions (DWP) and Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) in various roles to deal with peaks of work, as well as priority and crisis situations. 

Sabia Yasmin  

Sabiya Yasmin is a Director of the BWA Board, employed in the health sector working in a Pharmacy. She accurately dispenses services to clinics, patients and other healthcare providers in line with standard operating procedures. Sabiya is a multi-talented and competent translator and interpreter for NHS services and clients. As one of the first girls' youth club attendee at the Tipton Muslim Community Centre, she has been involved for 20 years of community service supporting diversity and multicultural issues strategically.
